Bio:

Joy « Maureen » Denalane was born and raised in Berlin-Schöneberg in 1973.
She inspires from her different cultures (She’s half German and South
African) to create her own style which takes inspiration from R&B, Soul and
African folk music.

She met her first success with a collaboration with the elecro band
"Tiefschwarz" on the single "music" and with Max Herre (who will become her
husband)on "Mit Dir".

Later, she signed a contract with Four Music and began working on her debut
album "Mamani", which was released in June 2002 and debuted at # 8 on the
German album charts.

She made her comeback in 2006 with her second album: "Born& Raised",
Now, Joy sings in Shakespeare's language, in a well known style:
"soul music" made in US.

Joy Denalane's career has a voice that soul music lovers will definitely
appreciate.
